Lucia Ferreira works with paint and embroidery on recycled paper. Her work dialogues with the body, nature and cycles of transformation. Each piece is a slow act of listening and reconstruction.

 

“Before I start painting, I usually embroider. Embroidery forces me to stop, to get into a rhythm. I use recycled papers that I prepare myself, mixing cellulose, dried flowers and natural pigments. The painting comes later, as a kind of emotional translation. My work speaks of wounds, but also of care. I don't believe in separating the personal from the political, nor the handmade from the artistic.”
