Jimena Centurión

Artista Plástica

IMG_3735.jpg

Jimena Centurión, Argentinian, is a visual artist whose practice centers on watercolor and the poetic exploration of landscapes. Her work emerges from contemplation and a desire to fully inhabit the present.

Trained in Fine Arts at the Santa Ana Institute, with further studies in printmaking, screen printing, and set design, she discovered watercolor over a decade ago — a medium that became her essential language: light, honest, and portable. Through it, she develops an intimate, meditative path where layers of water and color unfold landscapes that are both fragments of memory and exercises in presence.

She has lived and worked in Argentina, Mexico, Australia, Indonesia, Spain, the United States, and Portugal, participating in artist residencies across Europe and Latin America. During the pandemic, her practice expanded into large-scale works on raw fabrics, exploring blue monochromes as evocations of the horizon and her own personal history.

She is currently based in Lisbon, where she continues to explore the emotional and symbolic dimensions of landscape, understanding each work as a trace of lived time, an act of contemplation, and a way of connecting with what is essential.
